Knowledge and Software Engineering - Logic and Information Systems

We are entering a new phase of information systems, where knowledge, or ontologies are being formally included within the computer systems we build. A part of this effort is known as the semantic web. RDF (Resource Description Framework) is an attempt by the W3C to formalise the resources that are available to systems. Essentially, we want systems to begin to see and describe the world in the same way that we do.
