1998 saw two former-hurricanes hit the UK South-West Coast hard. The first on Sunday September 6th was the remainder of Hurricane Christine. Then there were 20' waves at Polzeath. On Monday 9th November the remains of Hurricane Mitch hit the British Isles.

At Harlyn Bay, conditions were big and semi-offshore. It also proved an expensive day for Ben Daniel who attempted took out his longboard in the pounding sea.
