FilmsThe Man in the Net(1959) Post-McCarthy Era film of false accusation. A man is framed by his brother and father for the murder of his hysterical adulterous wife. The saviours of the film's hero are 4 children. The innocence and belief of the children is contrasted with the corruption of the adults. Adults require money: they cannot believe that the author turns down an offer of 30,000 dollars, and assume guilt when a crime is committed. Greed and revenge are the hallmarks of adult life. Alan Ladd Stars next to the children. Return to Home Page |
