With the growth of task automation around the world and the growth of the Internet, every little process in the world is becoming subject to the question, can we automate it? We need tools in which to organise and handle all of these process.

Erlang is a programming language with a profile which matches the requirements of the new world very closely. In many ways the profile of Erlang can be said to match the more basic lower level processes. It is not explicitly object oriented for example.
